So this past week has flown by. We hit our 400 mark and are about to be in VA for trail days!! The views throughout the NC TN border have been unbelieveable. There is nothing like the 360 degree views from the grassy bald tops. The past couple days have definitely been some of our favorites. There was this beautiful shelter we visited called Overmountain. It was an old barn that converted to a hiker shelter. With its views overlooking the mountains and weathered red walls made us feel like we were in the Colonial Days. We have been hiking all around many amazing waterfalls. Each time we think 'this is as good as it gets...' it keeps getting better. As for the wildlife all the animals seem to be loving the warm weather too as we have seen deer, bunnies, birds, lizards, and bear claws. It is crazy to see the seasons changing before our eyes each day from the barren forests when we started to the flowered fields of May. Next time we blog we will be at the much anticipated trail days (a huge weekend hiker festival)!
