Delis on the Trail and A Welcome Visit
While we were hiking in NY we were able to climb Bear Mtn, where you can see the NYC skyline. Along the way we got a little taste of the city as we saw crowds of city people visiting the area. At the bottom were concession stands that we walked right by after seeing the absurd prices for fries and hamburgers. We had to cross Bear Mtn Bridge, which seemed endless for Ladybug as she doesn't like heights. Over the next couple of days we were spoiled with deli food as we passed them right along the trail. It worked out well for us as we didn't have to hitch into town for a resupply, we simply deli hopped. It seemed that the next days were incredibly long and a bit monotonous, our spirits were getting down. We kept on going, one foot in front of the other knowing it would get better. Lucky for us, Bullseye’s mom called us and told us she wanted to come hike for a couple days. We met up with them and had a nice BBQ at the pavilion in Pawling NY. In the morning there was a farmers market with lots of free samples. We said our goodbyes and hike on towards Connecticut.
