After Neels Gap, we hiked on for our first 13 mile day. There seemed to be endless mountains that day but we made it to Cheese Factory campsite. The next day we hiked 11 miles to get us as close to dicks creek gap as possible. Which put us at vista tent site (2.5 miles away). During the 11 mile trek we caught up to Squirrel and her dog and Kevin. We were all anxious/nervous to see how our gear would hold up in the bad storm that was going to hit over the night. Luckily we stayed cozy dry until we had to pack up in the morning. LadyBug took her first fall in the rainy morning. As I walked ahead i heard a faint call for help difficult to hear over the raindrops on my poncho. i turned and saw LadyBug sprawled out on the steep slope all tangled up in a bush. Luckily she was laughing and soon we were on our way to be picked up by Gary, The Blueberry Patch Hostel owner. After they did our laundry. LadyBug got her hair cut by "kickapoo" whom was a hiker we had just met an hour before. Once all 8 bunks were filled we all went to eat at a buffet and then got supplies at a grocery store. When we got back we were all exhausted but had enough energy to sing happy birthday to LadyBug and ate the cupcakes I bought. In the morning Gary n Lennie made us a big breakfast feast and after we said our thanks, we dug in. Its hard to describe the amount of hospitality they gave to us, asking only for a donation. Today we plan to hike 11 miles to muskrat creek shelter. With a fresh start we will be entering North Carolina today!
