So as Camel was having especially tough days through our 20 mile days, we started doing less miles. He was still struggling a lot, stopping often, and saying he was exhausted even after lots of sleep. We hiked with 'Train' for a day and were talking about Lyme disease as he pulled a tick off from himself. Later that night in the tent I noticed this red mark on Camels shoulder had grown and it was looking like a bullseye and I started worrying. In the morning we called over a hiker named 'Medic' and he looked at it and confirmed he thought it was Lyme disease. We hiked 10 miles to town and, luckily, got a ride to the doctor. It was indeed Lyme disease. So we got him antibiotics and decided to go to my NY house for a week until he felt better. My dad drove to get us the next day and we enjoyed an awesome week off. After 5 days we got back on the trail with my sister and dad, who hiked with us for a day and stayed the night. It down poured on us all and it was funny watching them try to find their rain gear as they didn't expect the weather to be so bad. It was really fun to get to bring them on the trail.
